Delaware's 30th Annual Amish Country Bike Tour:The state's largest and most fun cycling event -- will be Saturday, September 10, 2016, starts and stops at 411 Legislative Avenue in historic Dover, Delaware. Last year in 2015, 2,200+ cyclists from 25 states and England participated in the event. Register online by September 4, or at the event on Saturday, September 10 from 7-10 a.m. Cash or credit cards accepted.
- Before July 1, 2016: $40/adults; $20 ages 5-16; under 5, free.
- July 1- July 31, 2016: $50/adults; $25 ages 5-16; under 5, free.
- August 1- September 9, 2016: $60/adults; $30 ages 5-16; under 5, free.
- Day of registration is from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Cash and Credit cards will be accepted, No Checks. $60/adults; $30 ages 5-16; under 5, free.
- If registered on August 22 or after your bib will be available for pick up at the "Bib Pick-Up" Tent the day of the bike tour from 7-10 a.m.
- Includes bike tour map, giveaways, up to four food/rest stops including the famous "pie stop" at the Amish Schoolhouse AND the after-tour catered picnic!
- Event is rain or shine, no refunds.
KENT COUNTY TOURISM OFFERS “AVOID THE LINES” REGISTRATION INCENTIVE
FOR THE 30TH ANNUAL AMISH COUNTRY BIKE TOUR
Kent County Tourism, in celebration of the 30th Annual Amish Country Bike tour presented by WSFS Bank, will be awarding a “Collectable T-shirt” to every “30th” person who signs up early and “avoids the registration line” the day of the event starting on Wednesday, August 10th. The t-shirts will be awarded in increments of 30 for the next 30 days.
The Amish Country Bike tour is an annual event produced by Kent County Tourism to highlight the beautiful Amish farmland and quaint small towns that the County has to offer. This year’s event is Saturday, September 10th and starts and finishes in Delaware's historic capital of Dover at the Legislative Mall. With a choice of a 15, 25, 50, 62 or 100-mile loop, this bike tour is great for all ages and abilities. The registration cost is $60 for adults and $30 for ages 5 – 16. Participants under age 5 participate for free.
There are plenty of places to rest and enjoy snacks and beverages along the way, including the famed "Pie Stop" at the Amish Schoolhouse, featuring locally-made baked goods. Afterwards, bikers can relax and enjoy a barbecue from Where Pigs Fly, which is included with registration.
Kent County Tourism has added some new features this year for riders on Legislative Mall to experience. These include Fifers Donut Truck, who will be serving their fresh, handcrafted donuts made on-site. Byler’s, a bakeshop and deli located in Dover and Harrington, will have homemade pies available to purchase. Sherry T Wilkins Hypnotherapy LLC will be available on site to assist riders with massages after or before the ride. There will also be an Amish Buggy photo op for event goers to take photos at the end of the race.
Those who are not lucky enough to win a T-shirts will be able to purchase them the day of the event along with a newly designed 30th annual Amish Bike Tour jersey
